Senior Specialist, Master Data Management

The incumbent will be responsible for managing Master Data operations, including systems and processes that are tied directly to the Oracle Fusion ERP. This role will provide clear and consistent communication for the lifecycle of each product as it is promoted through an established lifecycle management process. The incumbent will interact with Supply Chain Planning, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Procurement, and Operations during creation, revision, and maintenance of electronic master data.


  • Analyze and Review New Item Requests provided by various parts of the business while gathering further information for entry into Oracle based ERP system 
  • Create, edit, support, and approve changes through various stages of its lifecycle including deployment into various connected systems. 
  • Align on any specific requirements associated with each individual item from the end user(s) of the product. 
  • Assess Change Controls, technical documents, and/or forms impacting electronic master data. 
  • Provide status on Change Order Management to multiple groups throughout Lyell. • Provide system troubleshooting - provides recommendation, solution, and guidance to various areas of the business. 
  • Provide recommendations for improvement of existing processes and requirements necessary for completion of creation and maintenance of items. 
  • Support ongoing Oracle process improvements including testing, rollout and approval of new processes and procedures. 
  • Establish and maintain training materials and SOPs related to master data management. • Identify, define, and develop key measurements to collect metrics for monitoring the master data lifecycle process.


  • BA/BSc in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, IT Systems, Bioengineering, or related scientific field with a minimum of 7 years’ experience; or
  • MBA or MSc in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, IT Systems, Bioengineering, or related scientific field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience


  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in data management and/or related industry work experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical company, or similar environment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Oracle ERP systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Master Data Governance
  • Demonstrated experience working and creating documents in a GxP environment.
  • Proven experience managing cross functional relationships with several different teams internally in the company and externally.


  • Strong understanding of data, data flows and how data supports various business processes in a manufacturing/supply chain environment
  • Understanding of data quality and data risk management, including understanding of standards, methods, processes, tools, and control
  • Ability to influence both internally and externally, and proactive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to problem solve and drive positive change
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and participate on teams
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, coach and grow technical talent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
