Scientist I, T Cell Rejuvenation

We are seeking an experienced talent to join our R&D team in South San Francisco as a Scientist I on the T Cell Rejuvenation team. The ideal candidate will play a principal role in developing the next generation of T cell cancer immunotherapies. This individual will be responsible for contributing to new medical hypotheses, new project initiation and progression, execution of research plans, and collaborating with the T cell rejuvenation team to improve T cells for adoptive immunotherapy.

Essential Functions:  

  • Design and implement complex experiments independently with scientific rationale
  • Perform analysis and make critical conclusions
  • Effectively present and communicate research findings to internal teams and external scientific community and partners
  • Prepare electronic lab notebooks, reports, publications, and presentations
  • Think creatively to solve problems and develop new technology
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills together with self-motivation, attention to detail, ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team-oriented environment

Preferred Education:

  • Ph.D. in cancer biology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field
  • M.S. with extensive professional experience will be considered

Preferred Experience:

  • Extensive cell/molecular biology knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in tumor biology and immunology is preferred
  • Experience with T cell culture and functional assay
  • A proven track record of high productivity and scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and patent inventorship
  • Strong experience with cell culture (expansion, media formulations, passaging, cryopreservation, co-culture assays, primary cell culture, 3D organoid)
  • Extensive experience with flow cytometry assays and analysis
  • Familiar with molecular biology assays (i.e. qPCR, Western blot, ELISA)
